Interval Timer — Tabata, Boxing Rounds & Custom Work/Rest
Set a work length, a rest length, and how many rounds, press start, and share the link so everyone doing the same workout, drill, or exercise sees the identical round and phase on their own device. The classic protocols are one click below.

CountLink is free, and one person builds it. If it's been useful, you can buy Bruno a coffee on Ko-fi.

Standard protocols
Set any of these in the work/rest/rounds fields above. The shared-link mechanic is identical whichever you pick. The numbers are the whole difference between them, so here they are as numbers.
| Protocol | Work | Rest | Rounds | Total | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tabata | 20s | 10s | 8 | 4:00 | Dr. Izumi Tabata's original protocol from a 1996 study on high-intensity interval training: short enough to sustain near-maximal effort, with just enough rest to repeat it eight times. Change the 20/10 ratio and it stops being strictly Tabata, but it still works. |
| Boxing (professional) | 3 min | 1 min | 12 | 48:00 | The standard professional format. |
| Boxing (amateur) | 2 min | 1 min | 3–4 | 8:00–12:00 | Amateur bouts and several other combat sports use the shorter round. |
| Muay Thai | 3 min | 2 min | 3–5 | 14:00–24:00 | Longer rests than boxing; set the round count to however many the bout runs. |
| Back-to-back sets | any | 0s | any | — | Each round runs straight into the next work phase with no pause, for a fixed number of consecutive timed sets. |
Common questions
Can I run a classic Tabata on this?
Yes, set work to 20 seconds, rest to 10, and rounds to 8. That's Dr. Izumi Tabata's original protocol from a 1996 study on high-intensity interval training, and it comes to about four minutes total.
Does this match standard boxing round timing?
Set 3 minutes work, 1 minute rest, 12 rounds and yes, that's the standard professional format. Muay Thai commonly uses 3-minute rounds with 2-minute rests; both are just numbers in the fields above.
Can rest be zero seconds, for back-to-back rounds?
Yes, set rest to 0 and each round runs straight into the next work phase with no pause, useful for a fixed number of consecutive timed sets.
Does everyone see the same round at the same time?
Yes, the cycle's start instant is encoded in the link itself, so every device computes the current round and phase independently from the same starting point, with no server keeping them in sync. A coach's phone and every fighter's screen stay on the identical round.
What happens when all rounds finish?
Every screen shows "Done" together and chimes if sound is on. Press Restart for the identical work/rest/rounds setup again, or adjust the numbers and start fresh.
Is there a ten-second warning before a round ends?
Not a distinct warning sound, but the screen-reader announcement and the visible countdown both update every second in the final stretch, so it's easy to see (or hear, with assistive tech) a round winding down.
