Workshop Timer — One Countdown For Every Table

Facilitators running breakout groups or table exercises know the problem: one group finishes early, another runs long, because everyone's eyeballing their own phone clock. Share this link instead and every table counts down from the same number.

Anyone opening your link right now sees exactly this.

Change the countdown

You can set the time on the board itself. Click the digits and roll them with the arrows, or just type it. These controls do the same job, plus counting down to a date.

Opens the same countdown the code was made for.

CountLink is free, and one person builds it. If it's been useful, you can buy Bruno a coffee on Ko-fi.

Timing breakouts without herding

The recurring headache when you're facilitating is uneven groups: one table finishes early and goes quiet, another runs long, because each is glancing at a different phone. Share one link and every table counts down from the same number, so segments actually end together and you're not shouting "two more minutes" across a noisy room.

A practical pattern for planning a session: give each activity slightly less time than feels comfortable. Groups expand to fill whatever they're given, and a tight clock keeps the energy up. Between segments, start the next duration and share the fresh link (each countdown is its own link). Put the current timer fullscreen on the room's main screen as the source of truth, and let anyone who wants it pull the same countdown up on their own device.

Common questions

Can each table or breakout group open the link on their own device?

Yes, that's the intended use. Share one link and every table's device shows the identical time remaining, so there's no ambiguity about when a segment ends.

Can I set up several segments in a row (talk, break, Q&A)?

Yes, use the agenda timer at countlink.app/timers/agenda-timer. Add each segment in order (talk, break, Q&A), press Start agenda, and share the one link it gives you: every device works out which segment is live from the shared start instant and advances together, with no server involved. Once running, the order is locked in for that run.

Is this suitable for a large room with many tables?

Yes, there's no limit on how many devices can open the same link, so it scales to as many tables or groups as you have.
